Thinker

Health. Systems. Innovation. Influences. Alignment. Sustainability. Access. And People, All People.

We need to massively shift our thinking.

For most of modern history, health has been treated as the absence of disease and thus handed over to systems designed to intervene largely too late i.e. when health has been lost. We acknowledge that responsibility for health lies with individuals, but despite that, we fail to design systems that support individual health or even proper access to sick care. We understand that many things influence health, including behaviour, biology, environment, constraints and belief, and that each person carries their own unique pattern, and then seek to standardise, not personalise, in the interests of economics. And in economics, we know that sustainability matters, and yet we ignore, for all the reasons above, the single biggest driver of sustainable healthcare… improving health. I believe we can do better.
